Installing Starlink in Santa Victoria

Ben and E on the Amazon river with Starlink

500 metres away from the Monkey Island on the other side of the river is a small Amazonian community of less than 500 people called Santa Victoria. As well as providing a lot of the fruit and vegetables we feed the monkeys, most of the staff at the island live in the community and it is full of close family who are also builders, helpers, and jungle experts.

After spending a lot of time with the community we wanted to provide them with connectivity as they don’t currently have any way of contacting anyone. This is especially important in emergencies and allows small businesses to get online as well as utilise it for the small school that can utilise it for all sorts of learning opportunities.

Our BE Kind project paid for the Starlink kit and will continue to pay the monthly connection fees so the community does not need to worry about an extra cost.
